Ford Focus Rally

By now, we're used to seeing the Ford Focus hype on various social media platforms. Ford has gone all out in drumming up awareness for the new Focus, especially in the States, where until a few months ago it was a more or less unknown car. In a new flood of social domination, Ford is again capitalising on the popularity of social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Hulu to promote the 2012 Ford Focus. This time it's with a rally.


The Focus Rally: America competition has aired its first episode on Hulu, with a one-minute spot subsequently airing at the Super Bowl XLV Pre-Game on Sunday. The rally lasts for five weeks and every day will see a new 10-15 minute video posted on Hulu.

Six teams are racing across the United States in Ford Focus hatchbacks and must not only be the fastest, but also garner the most support from online fans in their attempt to win. The race stops in a new city each day and the teams participate in a challenge, while players online try to win games on the rally's website alongside the video action. The victor will be decided by which team and its fans accumulate the most points.

Each team is named after the colour of the car they are driving: Ingot Silver, Yellow Blaze, Red Candy, Blue Candy, Black and Sterling Grey.Each member of the winning team will receive a new Ford Focus.
